DAI BULLETIN | WEEK 6 - May 2020

Please scroll down for this month day to day program

In light of the current pandemic restrictions we adapt the ways we learn together.

In accordance with the many conversations organised between the DAI crew, the DAI’s student led Crisis Group, the HTDTWT tutors, the COOP tutorial teams, and the partnering organisations, HTDTWT seminars, COOP study group sessions, Kitchen presentation and Kitchen coaching sessions are conducted through online group meetings for the months of May and June.

Kindled by the entirety of the our community’s responsive modes towards convening remotely, our May Bulletin welcomes a rather diluted timeline structure which – unlike the previously conceived DAI week timeline – allows encounters to be pervaded throughout the month.

How To Do Things With Theory:

The HTDTWT seminars in May and June are conducted in online group meetings. HTDTWT face to face meetings with 1st and 2nd year students are scheduled individually with the tutors. The work on the theses also continues through online tutoring in individual trajectories. Following the suggestion of the students, we step away from the fixed re-sit deadline of 25 June. In agreement between student and tutor the thesis can be submitted after 25 June, but not later than 31 July.

The tutors on board this month to contribute remotely to this defining module of our program are as follows:

Antonia MajacaRachel O'ReillyAna Teixeira Pinto, Amit S. Rai, Ghalya Saadawi, Hypatia Vourloumis  and Florian Göttke.

Planetary Campus:

KITCHEN presentations originally scheduled to take place in St Erme will be substituted by an alternative trajectory to be shared with the entire student body, the invited respondents and the DAI's director via digital media. DAI is currently looking into the possibilities, so that we can offer each student the maximum freedom under limited conditions. We will, in any case  create a lingering schedule which will include the months of May as well as June in their entirety. Post-Kitchen f2f's with Gabriëlle will be scheduled after each presentation.

Kitchen Coaching sessions with Hypatia Vourloumis and Quinsy Gario will be conducted online.

Factory 2.0 student led activities including General Assembly and Feed-Back Sessions via digital platforms.

Curriculum group (now falling under the Student Led Crisis Group) will meet with DAI’s director according to the Crisis meetings schedule.

The tutors and guests on board this month to contribute remotely to this defining module of our program are as follows:

Hypatia VourloumisQuinsy Gario, Gabriëlle Schleijpen, Jakob Jakobsen, Beya Othmani, Patricia Reed, Jonas Staal, members of our Alumni Embassy Lauren Alexander, Dina Mohamed, Sonia Kazovsky and Nikos Doulos.

COOP study groups:

COOP Study Groups gatherings will be predominantly conducted on-line. Some groups expressed the desire to explore alternative modes of distance communication.

DAI will be embracing the various formats devised by each study group as meaningful gestures that negotiate their relation to the screen (or other) tools, engage with the singular and the collective and allow for other rhythms to infuse the study.

Each COOP’s Month to Month announcements will continue offering elaborate formulations on the study groups’ scheduled encounters. Reverberations of those occurrences will resume on our student led curated Chronicles page.

The tutors and guests on board this month to contribute remotely to this defining module of our program are as follows:
