Contact Protocol for Students 2024-2025
In accordance to the crew’s division of tasks and with respect to everyone’s workload and time invested to DAI, please find below who to (not) contact when and for what.
Please take notice that in principle crew and students meet and communicate as much as possible during the DAI gatherings on location. Seeking direct contact with crew members outside of DAI Confluences should only happen 1. upon invitation, 2. upon emergencies /urgencies that cannot be delayed.

Jacq needs to know about your absence as EARLY as possible, ahead of the actual DAI Week; beds and meals cannot be cancelled last minute !
If your absence is due to lingering (mental) health issues and is expected to extend beyond one missed DAI Confluence, we urge you to contact Nicoline Lodeweges, the Arnhem based student counsellor of ArtEZ. If you are considering a time out from your studies, she is person in charge of informing you about the financial /legal consequences/ possibilitie. Please note that informing her as early as possible is conditional for any possible support from the part of ArtEZ.

All questions from students and alumni in regard to Credit Points, delays in their study trajectory, deferral, recommendation & funding letters, certificates, Exam regulations, Registration, liaising DAI with ArtEZ (Student Affairs, Quality Enhancement & Central Exam Committee) need to be directed to Study Trajectory Counsellor:

* In-space is a supportive thinking space to reflect on issues around each student's own and others’ experiences as a member of the DAI community. This is an organic process where all students can explore their concerns about race, gender, sexuality, mental health, culture and beyond. In-space is confidentially guided by Wanderley Santos.
*Once per academic year, (following your Kitchen presentation), every first year student at the DAI is scheduled for a one-on-one meeting of one full hour with artistic director | head of program, Gabriëlle Schleijpen gabrielle.schleijpen@dutchartinstitute.eu. If as a second year students you need to share or discuss an urgent or sensitive issue of importance to general wellbeing and study, you are most welcome to contact her and ask for an ad hoc additional (IRL or online) confidential meeting.
