Bobo (b. 1993) is a performance artist, curator, and rover. Her work combines performance, video, and installation to create site-specific experiences, collaborating with participants to shape unique moments in time and space.
After serving as a community curator at FEI Arts in Guangzhou from 2017 to 2020, Bobo co-founded the art and research collective Shunde_Shuntak in her hometown of Shunde in 2020. The collective focuses on researching and sharing the culture and knowledge of Shunde and the surrounding Pearl River Delta region in Southern China, while also exploring and practicing various possibilities for interdisciplinary collaboration and communal living within the group.
In 2022, Bobo received the ArtEZ scholarship and joined the Dutch Art Institute (DAI), leaving behind her spiritual homeland of Taiwan and her mother’s homeland of Shunde. She launched the performance and participatory project “Sinekdoĥo,” living each month with friends or strangers in different locations and conducting intimate performances. These performances took place at Le Générateur in Paris, Postaja in Zagreb, and other locations.
Bobo’s current practice intertwines love politics, auto-ethnography, performance, and everyday life. She plans to divide her time between the Netherlands and Canton, seeking new possibilities for creation and living across borders and time zones.
