Nick Aikens again, our beloved former DAI - COOP tutor, together with susan pui san lok, Scarlett Lösch and the Van Abbemuseum warmly invites you to join the conference "Transforming Collections, Rewinding Internationalism" on 20 and 21 April 2023 at the Van Abbemuseum. Among the confirmed speakers is Amal Alhaag, another brilliant former DAI - COOP tutor/ sonsbeek20-24 curator. Across two days, the conference aims to bring artistic, curatorial, art historical and museological practices into critical dialogue with machine learning development.

With a keynote by Professor Stephanie Dinkins (USA). Confirmed speakers include: Amal Alhaag (NL), Sonia Boyce (UK), Alice Correia (UK), Rebecca Fiebrink (UK), Irene Fubara-Manuel (UK), Tehmina Goskar (UK), Mick Grierson (UK), Setareh Noorani (NL) and Ananda Rutherford (UK), among others.

The conference will be sharing ongoing research and emerging findings from the project, Transforming Collections: Reimagining Art, Nation and Heritage, collaboratively led by the Decolonising Arts Institute and the Creative Computing Institute at University of the Arts London (UAL) in close partnership with Tate. The conference will take place in the context of the exhibition Rewinding Internationalism at, currenlty on show in the Van Abbemuseum. Please note that the conference will be in English.
