2020-2021 Factory 2:0: home expeditions

March 19 - 26 (online)

led by Liza Rinkema

When: all throughout the DAI week

Where: In a corner of DAI's Forest Living Room

home expeditions returns to DAI's Forest Living Room in a rather fluid time-structure running all throughout the DAI week.

As it is impossible to share a physical space at the moment, we propose a little experiment to see if we can connect our localities via video-calling. The idea is to connect, one-on-one through a video-call, and share the places we're inhabiting at the present moment.

Liza will be sharing sign up form via email for everyone to register, match pairs, and self organise a suiting time for their one-on-one encounters.

February 25, 2021 (online)

Initiated by Liza Rinkema & Marika Vandekraats

When: 13:30 - 14:30

Where: In a corner of DAI's Forest Living Room

As it is impossible to share a physical space at the moment, we propose a little experiment to see if we can connect our localities via videocall. The idea is to connect, one-on-one, in a videocall, and display the places we're at at the moment. Instead of guiding someone else through your space, however, we propose to reverse these roles: the 'visitor' takes initiative to tell the person on the other side where to go, what to show and how to move the camera.

Hopefully this set-up can connect our material surroundings somehow and let us explore new spaces/look at our all-too-known spaces in a new way :)

This student intiative is facilitated by DAI by making it part of the syllabus 2020-2021 and by providing space and time for gathering. It is embedded in the curriculum component Factory 2.0 and participation is credited with ECTS.
