2020-2021 Factory 2.0: DAI's FOREST LIVING ROOM

DAI's FOREST LIVING ROOM is a temporal chat room (world) at topia.oi ‘activated' by Ioana Lupascu (DAI, 2022) fostering avatar wanderings and informal encounters among our community at large.

Existing since DAI WEEK 3 and continuing throughout DAI WEEK 4 and beyond, DAI's FOREST LIVING ROOM invites students, tutors and crew to join in on their laptop's desktop (via a link and a password provided), wander around the ‘virtual woods' and engage in a conversations with other students as soon as their avatar reaches close proximity to one another.

PRIVACY POLICY: Topia has been built from the ground-up to prioritise protecting your data. Their video technology is using distributed end-to-end peer-to-peer encryption (AKA they don’t store your video feeds, your browser connects directly to the other person browser, meaning they or hackers can’t see it) and countless other precautions. This student intiative is facilitated by DAI by making it part of the syllabus 2020-2021 and by providing space and time for gathering. It is embedded in the curriculum component Factory 2.0 and participation is credited with ECTS.
