COOP SUMMIT 2024 ~ …And Then I Opened My Mouth

| tag: Essaouira

Thursday, September 5 ~ 19:30 - 21:30

Location: Dar Souiri ~ Association Essaouira Mogador, 10, avenue du Caire, Essaouira

COOP study group The Word and the Wound presents:

Where in the body is the word? Where is our point of light? Maybe in a whisper behind our ears; in the echo of armless hugs; in the confessional undertone of fingers touching throats and tongues touching pupils; in the release of a last shared breath. Where is our common dream?

((mmmm)) – calm hands on chest

How can we reenvision the understanding while sustaining self and others? An encounter with the act of listening as a propeller of making the 2 into 1. In knots of shadow practice somehow we synchronize. We wait, within. We let go of the body. We risk skin. We breathe in-in-in. We breathe out-out-out. With a tone or a shade of blue, not hoping for answers, only resonance.

((nnnnn)) – soft hands on chest

Maintaining a continuous dialogue of practiced rituals, the word and the wound lays bare and heightens a warm-up. An abundance of ballad and repetition, of composing and decomposing, of dismantling directional hierarchies and reorienting narratives towards a circle. A collective and muscle-bound stretching of voice, for mouth and ears: mine, yours, both; a mouth made of many mouths and multiple singular ears.

An open and unwavering invitation.

((nnggg)) – warm hands on chest

“A song on fragility. On a responsibility to remain defenseless. An homage to a

 romance...and a poem that listens...”

((wowww)) – we tune with each other and then...
