2022-2023 ~ Factory 2.0: SLOW DANCING

JANUARY 20, 2022

Led by Sille Kima & Elif Cadoux

When: 20:00 – 22:00

Location: NAC, Exhibition Space

Slow dancing is exactly what it sounds like. And then a bit more.
Led by Sille and Elif, the session combines heart throbbing slow dance tunes, somatic exercises, and a space to unwind under low lights into dancing to your hearts delight. Some daring awkwardness, whispers on the dancefloor and shy glances, if you will.

The dancefloor will open with a somatic "resourcing" exercise. It is a guided exploration to find inner reserves of wellness (or more-wellness as it applies to each body - this can mean less pain, more balance, more energy, your pick) that you can draw on throughout the session and beyond. It is a non-verbal exercise that can be done in any position, moving or still, with others or alone. Intercepted with small somatic cues, the dance will continue into the night to end with a closing prompt, exploring the intimacy that emerges when dancing blurry-eyed and with a slow heart.

Dress-code: the party outfit / your softest pajamas

This student initiative is facilitated by DAI by making it part of the syllabus 2022-2023 and by providing space and time for gathering. It is embedded in the curriculum component Factory 2.0 and participation is credited with ECTS.
