2022-2023 ~ Factory 2.0: Purple-skyed 'picadero': misspelling the last light of the road as a writing practice

NOVEMBER 19, 2022

Led by Ros Del Olmo

When: 20:30 – 21:30

Location: TBA

This student-led wants to meet different writing practices such us: creative, research, poetical, memoir, essay, personal message at 2am on your favourite app and so on.  Some tools for writing: We will go around the liminal pseudo-urban spaces with a special interest in the 'picadero', a Spanish word that denominates the location that is known as a precarious venue for sexual encounters to happen, in addition of a whole range of nocturnal activities.
Writing in a broad sense: The concepts of (blurring) distance, excess, misspelling and indeterminate space will gather us around the possibility of vanishing the vanishing point from a personal outskirt, language and an own sense of translation. Texts by writers such as Fernanda Melchor, Ariel Florencia Richards and Pedro Lemebel will be quoted or read out loud.

This student initiative is facilitated by DAI by making it part of the syllabus 2022-2023 and by providing space and time for gathering. It is embedded in the curriculum component Factory 2.0 and participation is credited with ECTS.
