Alejandro Cerón (Murcia, 1985) is a visual artist, musician, designer and independent researcher. He is currently involved in the production of Mussels’ Muscle’s first EP and collaborates with Jacqueline Shoemaker and Onomatopee Footnotes in the publication Not Knowing the City of Knowledge, edited by Josh Plough. As theory mentor, Alejandro conducts the course Dialogical Readings/Talking Practices at the Design Academy Eindhoven Master of ‘Design Curating and Writing’. His cooperative research focuses on the social and dialogical as form and content for a modus that unsettles and speculates on the reason, sense and notion of transversal practice.
He studied Product Design at the School of Art and Design in Murcia and holds a master in Industrial Design from the Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan. Alejandro graduated from the Dutch Art Institute in 2018.
Recent public manifestations of his work include: I have got an Empty Space in Modena, State of Concept in Athens, Marres Huis voor Hedendaagse Cultuur in Maastricht, BIO 25th Biennial of Design in Ljubljana, and Van Abbe Museum, TAC (Temporary Art Centrum) or Onomatopee in Eindhoven. His essay Terms & Conditions has recently been published in re-visiones.net. In 2017 he founded the New Woensel Non Museum (NWNM) —a research space dedicated to host micro residencies and produce semi-public events in Woensel, Eindhoven.
