Merel Eimers

 

Merel Eimers is a researcher and translator based in Amsterdam. She holds a RMA in Religion and Theology and studied Arabic in e.g. Amsterdam, Cairo and Beirut. Her research interests concern the intersections between religion, migration and asylum law, and the construction of religion through secular legal and political discourse. She cooperates with a dayshelter for undocumented migrants in Amsterdam, where she teaches, translates and collaborates with asylum lawyers. She works with Galit Eilat and is currently involved in the project Syndrome of the Present as a researcher and producer.
