The works of Gabriel Acevedo Velarde (Lima, 1976) delve into the liminal space between subjectivity and political representation. Some of his solo shows are Paranormal Citizen (Reina Sofía Museum, Madrid, 2013), Interruptions on decrees and stages (Mori Museum, Tokyo, 2014), and Quorum Power (Museo Carrillo Gil, Mexico City, 2009). He has participated in the Lyon Biennial, São Paulo Biennial, Corruption - Everybody knows (e-flux NY, 2015), among other group exhibitions. He’s currently developing an autobiographical audiovisual account of his involvement in a 2017 congressional investigation of sexual offence in the school he attended in the 1980s, articulating affect theories and political analysis.
