PIRATE CAMP @ 54 VENICE BIENNALE / Kamila Szejnoch a.o.
PIRATE CAMP, the new project devised by CONIGLIOVIOLA, is the first travelling residential programme for camping artists. With one of the most memorable artistic actions to have come out of the 2007 edition to its credit - the Pirate Attack launched from a raft topped by an enormous inflatable rabbit, culminating in a 52-gun cannonade - CONIGLIOVIOLA is back at this year´s Venice Biennale, setting foot on land with a project that will be a 'treasure' for other artists: the PIRATE CAMP.
From 31 May to 6 June, the BIENNALE will provide the backdrop for a camp hosting 16 young international artists, who have been chosen, through an online competition, by a special jury made up of nothing but artists from Italy´s seven leading artist-run spaces.
