ART ROTTERDAM ~ Doris Denekamp (DAI, 2011) and Susan van Hengstum (DAI, 2013) participate in Prospects & Concepts 2016 ~ exhibition devised by the Mondriaan Fund from 11 until 14 February 2016
From 11 until 14 February 2016 the Mondriaan Fund will present the fourth edition of Prospects & Concepts during the international art fair Art Rotterdam at the Van Nellefabriek in Rotterdam. In the exhibition work will be shown by 54 visual artists who received a Talent Development Grant in 2014. The Mondriaan Fund invited Noor Mertens to curate the exhibition this year. Mertens is Curator Modern & Contemporary Art and City Collection at Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam. Member of Parliament Michiel van Veen (VVD) and visual artist Folkert de Jong will open the exhibition on the 10th of February at 6.30 pm.
The Mondriaan Fund organizes the exhibition Prospects & Concepts every year in order to boost the visibility of emerging artists. With Art Rotterdam just around the corner, art professionals and collectors, but also a broad group of interested individuals have the opportunity to become acquainted with the work of these promising artists. Moreover, the exhibition is a perfect opportunity to present the work produced thanks, in part, to a contribution from the Mondriaan Fund.
Artists from the Netherlands can apply for the Mondriaan Fund Talent Development Grant up to four years after graduating from an arts education. The support can be used for anything associated with new work, such as research, materials, equipment and projects in the Netherlands or abroad.
In accordance with previous years, the exhibition design of Prospects & Concepts 2016 is done by Tom Postma Design and the graphic design by Team Thursday.
