January 14 ~ Yael Davids: Gesture and Diaspora, Performance at Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst Leipzig

| tag: Leipzig
"I am not seeking to develop flexible bodies, but flexible minds... I am interested in the re-establishment of our human dignity."
 - Moshe Feldenkrais
Yael Davids interlinks various forms of expression in dance. As a point of reference, she uses the notations of Noa Eshkol, the Yemenite dance, the Hora dance and the Dabke. Davids sees the transfer and modification of gestures and motifs from various cultures as a force that is capable of overcoming obstructions and barriers.
In collaboration with Verena Tintelnot and Svenja Wolf
Following the performance, an informal discussion with the artist will take place.
