SCHEDULE DAI-WEEK 7-12 January 2016

January 7: Thursday

On the first day of each DAI week, the students split up in groups for the so-called COOP Academy; three commissioned projects tailored around specific research questions, organised and tutored by partnering organisations The Van Abbemuseum, Open! and Casco, Office for Art, Design and Theory.

Eindhoven: 

14:00: Seminar Practicing with Institutions, Instituting Practice II, framework by the Van Abbemuseum

Today with curator and course-leader Nick Aikens, Charles Esche and Annie Fletcher

Location: Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven / evening session in RuRu House, Arnhem

Arnhem: 

13:00-14:00 Communal lunch at the DAI cooked by Karin & Annemarie (Pick Up catering)

14:00: Seminar Publishing Class: Between Animals or Beyond Being Human, framework by Open!

Today with curator and course leader Jorinde Seijdel, Associate PHD researcher Florian Göttke and guest tutor Niels Schrader

Location: Kortestraat - Living Room 

14:00: Seminar Inland Class, framework by Casco, Office for Art, Design and Theory.

Today with curator and course leader Sanne Oorthuizen, Irene Cardoso, Binna Choi and Juan Hurtado

Location: Kortestraat - Quiet Space

January 8: Friday

One on one meetings between students and (guest) tutors. This week with: Nick Aikens, Jorinde Seijdel, Florian Göttke, Niels Schrader, Juan Hurtado, Sanne OorthuizenTirdad ZolghadrJon Mikel EubaSusan Gibb, Tina Gverovic, Ruth Noack, Gabrielle Schleijpen ( 8 sessions with 5 students per slot: Jakarta brief) & Rik Fernhout

Overnight stay at "buitengoed Panoven", Zevenaar (touring car leaving from DAI at 21:30 - please note that there is no other means of transport to Panoven available - missing out on the bus meaning no bed !)

January 9: Saturday

8:45 Departure bus from Panoven to DAI

9.15 Breakfast at the DAI

On the Saturday of each DAI-week, the students split up in three groups for the projects that together form the so-called ROAMING ACADEMY.

MONOTOPIA

A one-day assembly in Showroom Arnhem with speakers, screenings, performance and archives.

Curated and presented by Sarah Pierce and Tirdad Zolghadr.

With presentations by Annie Fletcher, Suhail Malik, Keller Easterling (remote lecture) and Tirdad Zolghadr 

Final slot: tai-chi session with Theo

Open to the public ~ no entrance fee ~ location: Showroom Arnhem

January 11: Monday

10:30-16.15: The Kitchen / Not The Restaurant; all students attend the lecture-presentations or lecture-performances by 8 students, this DAI-week's guest respondents are Jeuno JE Kim and Adrian Rifkin, with Rebecca Sakoun in the audience. Rebecca will act as a coach to these 8 presenters and return on January May 12, 2016 for tutorials as well as on June 5 & 6, 2016 for a workshop on presenting/performing a lecture.
