Museum Leuven; Jimmy Robert ~ A clean line that starts from the shoulder. Till February 28, 2016

Identity, movement and the vulnerability of the body are central themes in the collages, photos and installations by Jimmy Robert (°1975, Guadeloupe). In M, he explores the different ways that lines and movements can be interpreted. He starts from Idel Ianchelevici’s fine line drawings of androgynous Africans.
Robert’s themes return in two videos by the Belgian artist Lili Dujourie, which are also part of the exhibition. They show a figure between waking and sleeping. It is unclear whether it is a man or a woman.
