Dear everyone,

I'm pleased to invite you to "There's Absolutely no Cause for Alarm"
an exhibition curated by Katia Krupennikova, at Taak in Amsterdam,
as part of the Unseen festival.

I'll be showing "STAY", a new video-work.

"In a garage type space, a Doberman Pinscher is repeatedly commanded to remain still. Stay moves between looking into a shop window where commodities are on display, and the image of an abattoir, a slaughterhouse. If the shop window stands for the manifest, the way the world is represented to us and the way we make a whole of ourselves by the phenomenal forming of a self, the abattoir is the scientific, the flesh and bones we really are, the self as a swarm of data, without morals or ethics. In the communication between the owner and the dog we possibly can sense the set of constraints that define our selfhood of being."

Opening 18 September 2015, 17.00 – 22.00
Opening hours: 19 – 27 September 2015, Tuesday – Sunday, 12.00-18.00
