Kristiina Koskentola (DAI, 2007): Bodies of Resistance ~ Reflections on Contemporary Chinese Performance Art and Experimental Photography. Presentation at Valokuvagalleria Hippolyte on 23 Oct 2014, 5.30 – 7 pm
Kristiina Koskentola will introduce and reflect on number of works by Chinese artist from the early years of experimental art in China (1980's and 1990's) until today.
In the post Tiananmen years many artists used the human body both as a subject and as an explicit political medium. These years marked a departure from tradition and a change in art practice and have great significance for the development of the Chinese art and on individual practices and art scene today.
The presentation will be held in English.
