David Senior

David Senior is the Bibliographer at The Museum of Modern Art Library. He manages the development of the library collection as well as the selection of materials for the library's artists' books collection. Senior has lec­tured widely on the history of artists' publications and modes of archiving avant-garde art and design activities of the 20th cen­tury.

He also regularly organizes exhibitions of library material.
He collaborated with Sheelagh Bevan on the 2010 exhibition, Experimental Women in Flux: Selections from the Silverman Reference Collection. 

Recent exhibitions have included Access to Tools: Pub­lic­a­tions from the Whole Earth Cata­log, 1968 – 1974 (2011), Scenes from Zagreb: Artists' Publications of the New Art Practice (2011), Millennium Magazines (2012), an exhibition of contemporary artists' magazines and Please Come to the Show (2013), a two-part exhibition of special invitation cards and event flyers from MoMA Library's ephemera collections.

His writing has recently appeared in Frieze, Bulletins of the Serving Library, A Prior and C Magazine. For the past six years, he has published an artist's book series through the New York Art Book Fair, which includes publications by Dexter Sinister, David Horvitz, Emily Roysdon, Aaron Flint Jamison, Triin Tamm and Eve Fowler. He also cur­ates an annual pro­gram of events for the New York Art Book Fair. Since 2008, this pro­gram has involved over 100 per­form­ances, talks, screen­ings and con­certs. He is a member of the advisory boards of Printed Matter, Art Metropole, Primary Information, Yale Union (YU), and the Serving Library.
