Bracha Ettinger / Casco – Office for Art, Design and Theory / Fragilizing the Self & Let's Squat Something
15 April 13.00-16.00 Let's Squat Something (Forum)
Right after the broadcasting weeks of our cooperative situation comedy Our Autonomous Life? via Utrecht local television network Utrecht RTV-Ustad, we are gathering different stakeholders and groups to get their voices out concerning squatting movement (squatting in the Netherlands illegalised since Oct 2010) and explore the idea/practice of "housing the common". It's also an opportunity to watch all the four episodes of the sitcom together, including the final episode released last weekend. I assure this occasion to be fun, meaningful and constructive. Ha-ha!
18 April 11.00-17.00 Fragilizing the Self, Resisting the System (Seminar/Session)
This is new to us: we are showing a few paintings and expecting a little psychological drama. Much intrigued by Utrecht University's Gender Studies, who initiated the week with practicing psychoanalyst, theorist and artist Bracha L. Ettinger in Utrecht, we are organizing a day long seminar or sort of self-liberating healing session with Ettinger. The hint on what's going to happen on that day can be found on the attached image. In this Bracha L. Ettinger week, there will be also a symposium (13 April), a masterclass (16 April), and a book launch with renown feminist art historian Griselda Pollock (in the evening of 18 April). http://www.genderstudies.nl/
