2024 - 2025 Factory ~ Student Led: A collective storytelling video walk

JANUARY 14 , 2025

Led by Hannah van der Schaaf, Ivor Glavas, Sarmistha Bose

When: 09:15 - 10:15

Starting location: Main Kitchen

On the Curonian spit migration happened all over. People going up and down with their stories, Nida moved three times and the dunes are still wandering.

During this walk we will move through the landscape as well. Inviting everyone to share their knowledge with each other human and more than human, visible and invisible. Collectively we get to know our surroundings by walking, talking and sharing. Where are we? What are the plants that grow here and what are stories brought to our thoughts.

This walk is a combination of two methods of knowledge sharing.

One way of sharing knowledge is based on the concept of a walkinglab. A community-led, collective, and iterative walking research-creation gesture on place. A format that allows everyone to share their knowledge and thrive collectively. As a layer to the walkinglab we add microphones through which you can share your knowledge with the invisible, as a voice around. Resulting in a collective video walk.

This student initiative is facilitated by DAI by making it part of the syllabus 2024-2025 and by providing space and time for gathering. It is embedded in the curriculum component WEAVER and participation is credited with ECTS.
