2024 - 2025 Factory ~ Student Led: Theasing the thesis

Theasing the thesis is an invitation to come together around our thesis writing. It is an informal event during which we share questions, help each other, find solutions to issues we are tackling, share the state of our writing and generally support each other in the process of thesis writing.

By coming together we lower the stress of the entreprise and untangle some of the academic mysteries that may be foreign to us. By being many there will always be at least one who can guide the group forwards, who may have if not an answer at least a promising lead.

These sessions are meant as hands-on, moments of relief in the otherwise quite lonely process. We will start by sorting out tools that may help us and as time goes by we hope to move from the general to more specific by giving ourselves and each other a moment to share our insecurities and small victories, our genius work and the less likely to make the cut into the final version. The process will be guided by those in the room. Attention will be given to what is needed.

DECEMBER 9, 2024

Led by Nada Gambier

When: 11:00 - 13:00

Location: Saltanes

In this first session we will start with updating each other on where we are at and sharing our current questions. From there we will move to some tools such as editing and correction softwares and how to find material and access online archives. We will end by setting out a plan for the next confluence.

This student initiative is facilitated by DAI by making it part of the syllabus 2024-2025 and by providing space and time for gathering. It is embedded in the curriculum component WEAVER and participation is credited with ECTS.
