Alessandra Ferrini
Alessandra Ferrini is a UK-based artist and researcher. She recently completed a practice-based PhD at the University of the Arts London titled Gaddafi in Rome: Dissecting a Neocolonial Spectacle.
Experimenting with the hybridization of the documentary film, her research questions the legacies of Italian colonialism and Fascism. Her work spans across moving images, installation, performance-lecture and dialogic formats, as well as writing, translation, publishing, and education.
She is the recipient of the Maxxi Bvlgari Prize 2022 and has has exhibited and published internationally. In 2024 she participated in the 60th Venice Biennale curated by Adriano Pedrosa and published her first monograph, Like Swarming Maggots: Confronting the Archive of Coloniality across Italy and Libya (published by Archive Books and commissioned by Villa Romana).
