Lecture by Mia van den Bos (DAI, 2021): Stronger together: artists' unions and the political organisation of precarious workers. Starting with a brief look at the exceptional economics of the art industry and the history of artists' political organisation, this talk argues for a renewed form of artists' union that acts in solidarity with a broader movement of precarious workers. Mia's presentation is part of the the general membership meeting (GMM) of Platform Beeldende Kunst. This year's GMM will take place on Tuesday 4th of June 2024, from 18:30 to 22:00 PM in the TETlokaal in Tetterode, Bilderdijkstraat 165, Amsterdam. The assembly is open to members and non-members.
