Pietro Lo Cascio

Pietro Lo Cascio is a naturalist whose primary focus is the study of island biodiversity. He has written over two hundred scientific and popular publications, including several books and international participations. Moreover, Lo Cascio manages conservation and monitoring projects and, since 2001, has been the director of Nesos, an association based in Lipari involved in ecotourism and research. He also works as a naturalist guide, especially in the Aeolian Islands, his favorite archipelago. Alongside his academic background and research, another great passion is the guitar, where he performs South American folk music and classic repertoire.

 

On Friday the 12th of May, 2023 Pietro Lo Cascio will contribute to the introduction day organised to give local context to the DAI's landing on the island of Salina for DAI-Week 7
