Since returning to Singapore after graduating from the DAI in 2017, our alum Wayne WJ.Lim has been actively organising collective work amongst artists and peers in the arts, both in Singapore and around the region. All the work done under the banner of AWKNDAFFR, that is led by himself and his partner in crime, Kay Min Soh (who’s a graduate from Goldsmith’s University of London). Bringing together a flavourful rasanblaj of artists and thinkers, their publication "Can, Cannot, and Other Options: Between Defiance and Desire, Towards Fuller Lives" is an anthology of speculative non/fictions, personal and interpersonal confessions, and experimental propositions, that highlights the desires for lives lived fully which have persisted through toxic times and in spite of deep violence. Pathways for other options have always been there all along — the repetitive task of times anew remains, always, to find these paths again. Contributors: Riksa Afiaty and Theodora Agni, Joshua Babcock, Chand Chandramohan, Stefano Harney, bani haykal, Pitchaya Ngamcharoen (DAI, 2018) and Vinita Gatne (DAI, 2019) (with Areumnari Ee (DAI, 2018), Dina Mohamed (DAI, 2019) & Wang Duruo ( DAI, 2019), Nurul Huda Rashid, and Marcus Yee.
