Abstract

This thesis investigates the concept of dreams in an effort to propose an artistic practice, which sets new ways to live, love, and work in the world. It departs from dreaming histories and then examines the ground-breaking theories of the early 20th century on dreams to establish my own theoretical knowledge and approach. This will serve to deconstruct the complex imagery of my personal dream in the last chapter, which has been dissected through the lens of critical thinking, art theory, and philosophical concepts. It will show how coping mechanisms and alternative future possibilities are made available, especially in uncertain circumstances and challenging times.
