Elisa Giuliano is a curator, architect, and theatre maker based between Italy and Berlin. Her curatorial and theatrical work explores the demythologization of modernity and capitalism, with a particular focus on sexuality and gender roles in religious histories, folklore, and myth-making—especially within the context of modern Italy.
She is currently a lecturer in the MA program in Cultural Critique / Curatorial Studies at ZHdK in Zurich. Recently, she was a curatorial fellow at HBK Braunschweig, where she curated the exhibition Crossing Tales and the screening program Thinking Through Evidence. In 2022, she co-curated the exhibition Ceremony (Burial of an Undead World) at Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW). She was also a fellow at Ocean Space – TBA21–Academy in Venice in 2020, and at Het Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam in 2018.
In 2019, Giuliano was part of the artistic team for the exhibition projects I-DEA and Blind Sensorium in Matera, European Capital of Culture 2019. Her writing has appeared in publications such as Dirty Furniture, MUdec United, NERO, and Arts of the Working Class.
