Lau ten Zeldam is a Dutch, non-binary art worker based in Brussels, Belgium. They have a background in durational performative drawing, glass restoration (Atelier Mestdagh, Ghent, Belgium, 2013-2022) as well as art education (BA Art and Education, AHK, 2007-2011). Their practice focuses around the non-separatedness of manual, sensorial, lingual and relational processes. They work with tactile and embodied knowledges; a long-term and process-oriented engagement; and are interested in “political-sensorial" emancipatory becoming.

During their studies at DAI they have been working around intersecting questions of feminist, (pre-/post-/anti-/)colonial and queer inheritance and movement by attending from a situated and embodied touch point with their grandmother’s “trace-monument” (who was active in the 60s and 70s Dutch women’s movement, and who they never met in flesh). In the coming years they will continue this research in the form of a historical poly-voiced fiction, as well as focus on craft- and poetry-based community art projects with children and in intergenerational context in Brussels (and elsewhere).
