Dylan Spencer-Davidson (USA/UK/CH) is an artist, performer and educator based in Berlin, DE. His practice spans performance, workshops, video, sound and writing and continually orbits around the question: how to be together? Challenging normative, violent forms of relation, his works hold space for collective emotional processing, while proposing alternative forms of communication and collaboration that are rooted in listening, consent, embodiment, difference, and vulnerability. Within his pedagogical work, he takes on the role of facilitator, providing experimental spaces for peer learning and for negotiating privilege differences and power imbalances.

He has studied at the Dutch Art Institute (NL), the Royal College of Art (UK) and the University of Cambridge (UK). Recent projects include “Affective Dynamics Study Group” (2020) at Volksbühne, Roter Salon, Berlin, “Age of majority” at TROPEZ, Berlin (2019), “The way I feel under your command” (2019) at Cabaret Voltaire, Zürich and “I don’t feel safe to tell you” (2018) at Haus N, Athens. He has also been a guest lecturer at London College of Communication and Rupert Alternative Education Programme, and has collaborated and performed with artists including Joan Jonas, Allora & Calzadilla, Jeremy Shaw, Nile Koetting and Frieda Toranzo Jaeger.
