The textile industry, colonial history, international trade, labour and militant politics -
Social Fabric as an exhibition explores the boom and bust cycles of capitalism and Britain's historical connection with India through the materiality of textiles and the labour of textile workers. 

The exhibition focuses on works by artists Alice Creischer and Sudhir Patwardhan, presented alongside recent and historical archival material including Company Paintings, Indian Chintz, Marx's journals, films, photographs, recordings of mill workers' testimonies and works by several other artists.
