ABSTRACT
This research focuses on the Historical Land Walls of Istanbul in order to investigate the transformation of the urban space of Istanbul and the consequences and resistances on local level. It aims to bring forward the experience provided by the zone of the ancient defence structure through the local legends, self-initiations, informal economies and dwellings in response to the urban regeneration and heritage management projects.
