This is the third issue of the monthly DAI-bulletin in the academic year 2003 - 2004, informing you about our program, about important dates and events.

CRASHCOURSE on Music, Sound and Technology - Lesson 1
by Jorrit Tammega, composer of electronical music, teacher sound design at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht and teacher electronic composition at the conservatory of Amsterdam.
TAKE NOTICE: DAI public students who don't want to participate in this course should really be able to produce valid arguments.

Evening-lecture by Debra Solomon.
Debra Solomon will lecture on the Neue Slovenische Kunst, in a lecture titled, Artists, Inadvertent Activists, Avoiding War.
In the 1980's the NSK artists' collective changed the course of history for Slovenia. Solomon's short lecture will be followed by Michael Benson's epic documentary, Predictions of Fire.
NSK = Neue Slovenische Kunst, umbrella term for Slovenian groups like IRWN(group of painters), Red Pilot Theatre, the band Laibach, and a group of graphic designers.
Little known fact of history: in Slovenia artists have prevented a real war like in the rest of the Balkan by... making art.

WEEK OF HAL DAI
MONDAY, TUESDAY, THURSDAY FOR ALL (and Wednesday and Friday for those without other obligations as well): WERK AAN DE WINKEL
IF (and we will inform you about this as soon as possible) the University can guarantee that we can use HAL D at least till July - all students are invited to join 'the restorationparty' that will take place under the professional guidance of Jos Kruit. A couple of days of collective labour can transform HAL D in HAL DAI: for the benefit of ALL students at DAI who want to enlarge the scale of their works in progress or just need some air to breathe while making art.
From Monday the 17 at 11.30 AM onward.

Anne Schiffer, Tom Beterams, Paul Segers, Johan Akkermans,Kor Smeenge, Ymke ter Beek, Alja Steinvag, Margit Driehuis, Thomas Hascher, Sjanet Bijker.
Both Hewald Jongenelis and Sylvie Zijlmans will be present to give their critical comments .
Presence of this whole group during today's evaluations is mandatory.
(The students that take part in the A4 project will present their definite proposals for Leidsche Rijn to Hewald and Sylvie in the beginning of January 2004, although they have to present a rough outline during the assesments.)
