Current DAI-student Robert Witt is one of the nominees of the ‘Overijsselse Junior Beeldende Kunst Prijs’. Work of the nominees is on show at Kunstvereniging Diepenheim in Diepenheim till December 22.

Lecture/Performance ‘Maquis’ (name of French restistance-groups during World War Two) IN THE PROJECTROOM by Jeremiah Day for ALL students.
Jeremiah Day (US) recently finished his two year residency at the Rijksacademy in Amsterdam. He published an artist book entitled Portable Memorial in 2003.
‘Since 1997, I’ve traveled to sites of public meaning in an attempt to embody my thinking. This book compiles photographs from five of those pilgrimages. The accompanying texts and book designed were produced in Amsterdam, 2003’.
Jeremiah Day combines writings with photographs taken at the opening night of Las Vegas’ Bellagio Hotel/Casino/Gallery, the former site of the Alfred P. Murragh Building in Oklahoma City, the Ruin of The Memorial for The International Brigades of the Spanish Civil War (Erected 1937-Demolished 1939) at the Jarama River, preparations for The Founder’s Day of Celebration, Florida, and Inflancka Street, Warsaw; the Site of Krzysztof Kieslowski’s Decalogue (and former Jewish Ghetto).
After his Performance/Lecture there will be a discussion moderated by DAI-guestlecturer Ansuya Blom.
From 13.00 PM onward: studiovisits by Jeremiah Day.

TAKE NOTICE: ASSESSMENTS IN THE PROJECTROOM on 13,14,15
Small lectures/ presentations given by each student on his or her current research and practice in art. The audience consists of ALL DAI-students, mentors, course director and two guests per day representing ‘the artworld outside’.
With their presentations students try to elicit fresh comments and advices from the external experts.

Today graduating students Sverre Bjertnæs, Kristen Cooper, Rongman Hong and Tracey Prehay will receive their diplomas.
But we will only say goodbye to them in January when we hope to meet all of you at the launch of their graduation publications and opening of a small farewell-presentation of their work.

The accredited points for the first part of this year’s programme will be e-mailed to you today.
