DAI-bulletin 2005-2006 number two November 2005

This is the second issue of the monthly DAI-bulletin in the academic year 2005-2006, informing you about our program, about important dates and events.
Students: please, PRINT THIS TEXT and keep it with you as an extension to your diary.
Alterations and additions to the program will be e-mailed to you.

Still on show at the Centraal Museum in Utrecht till January 15 is a work by DAI-alumnus Tracey Prehay. For Global Fashion / Local tradition she was invited to design and produce a dress. Tracey’s Red Dress is to be seen in the so called Red Room.

Tracey Prehay was also invited to participate in the Black Magic Woman Award. The contestants will show their work at BijlmAIR in Amsterdam between November 10 and December 3. On November 19 the election of the winner will take place. The public is invited to participate. The Award will be handed out on the same day between 3 and 5 PM.
The viewing of a documentary film on the participating artists will be part of the ceremony.

Current DAI-student Idan Hayosh is participating in a show called ‘Nu binnen’ on recently graduated artist at the Netherlands Architecture Institute (NAI) in Rotterdam ( till December 1). Idan is collaborating (under the name ‘eventarchitektuur’) with Herman Verkerk (architect) in a room/sound installation that revolves of infrastructure and isolative materials.

Till the 6th of November you can see an installation by Idan Hayosh at De Melkweg, Amsterdam Mediaroom:
3 video’s; lamps #1-#4, GVB Nightwork, Untitled (lamps #5)

DAI-alumnus Somsak Chaituch informs us that he just received a grant (basisbeurs) from the Fonds voor Beeldende Kunst en Vormgeving.

Current DAI-student Ajla Steinvag and DAI-alumni Paul Segers are invited by DAI-alumnus Rongman Hong to an art department of the University in Xiamen in the PR of China to put up a workshop on site specific art this month.

DAI Guest Advisor Sylvie Zijlmans shows new work at Galerie Tanya Rumpff, Spaarnwouderstraat 74, Haarlem.
Opening Sunday November 6 from 4 till 6 PM.
Show will last till November 30.
