Abstract

This research assesses the implications of ‘digital immortality’ focusing on central tenets of the human experience, such as consciousness, death and time. It preliminarily maps shifting existential paradigms of the digital age. It will elucidate the social consequences and provocations of a digitally replicable subject in the current sociopolitical context. Within this, it confronts a key philosophical dilemma, imbued with greater urgency and significance in the digital era. That is, what does it mean to be human?
