Dear friends and relations of the DAI,

As a kick-off to it's 2010-2011 program the Dutch Art Institute will take up residence in Murcia during the opening of Manifesta 8.

Please note that Lauren Alexander, Lado Daraxvelidze, Jimini Hignett, Anna Hoetjes, Jeroen Martinn, Eva Olthof, Julio Pastor and Patricia Sousa, the participants in a collaboration between DAI and Manifesta (one of last years projects at the DAI, namely "Platform for(Un)solicited Research and Advice") will present the TEMPORARY ART SOUVENIR SHOP. The public will encounter this mobile shop in different places in Murcia and Cartagena. For more information have a look at http://temporaryartsouvenirs.org/.

Forty-two alumni, students and some faculty will attend a large part of the numerous opening events that have been organized by Manifesta 8. In addition to that the group will meet several times for formal and informal introductions to the upcoming 2010-2011 DAI-program which is intended to take place, for the largest part in Arnhem, but also in Amsterdam, Bangalore, Eindhoven, Beirut, Utrecht and other places. Formal: Alena Alexandrova, Tanja Baudoin, Florian Göttke, Doreen Mende, RenéeRidgway, Rebecca Sakoun and myself will speak about the exciting research trajectory that the DAI-students can expect to embark on from November onward. Informal: a DAI-diner on October 8 at 21 hrs. in Restaurant Arqua, Muelle Alfonso XIII, directly at the harbour of Cartagena.

Detailed information about our schedule in Murcia and about names & faces of the fellow travelers is to be found here.

Looking forward to greet you,

possibly in Murcia,
