Listening Group Session: Partnering bodies: A series of exercises around a listening act.
led by Maike Hemmers and Valentina Curandi (and supported by Flora Valeska Woudstra and Leon Filter)
This Listening Group session will feature a series of cushion works and ideas prompted by Maike Hemmers and Valentina Curandi and supported by Flora Valeska Woudstra and Leon Filter. The session will focus on the text 'Reflections on a Corollary Event' by Nathaniel Katz, which is included in the first issue of the SpellBoundPages collaborative publication effort On Disappearance.
The starting point of this session is an essay that reflects on disappearance as a gesture of tracing and compiling stories from the evidences that bodies leave behind. We will work with the impact of soft textile bodies onto the human body and the impressions made by flexible structures of support. We will focus on the responsiveness of one body to another, following the desire of staying with sensations or moving beyond them.
