#InfiniteEar
Initiated in 2013 and operating at the intersection of arts, sciences and Deaf culture, Infinite Ear approaches deafness as both an ability and an expertise in hearing. Conceived in collaboration with Deaf and hard of hearing individuals, Infinite Ear composes spaces and situations to experience, understand and feel sound in radically different ways. The exhibition develops around four main bodies of work: WITHIN, a collection of instruments by Tarek Atoui; New Listeners, films and sculptures by Alison O'Daniel; A (mis)reader's Guide to Listening, a performative mediation by Lendl Barcelos, Valentina Desideri and Myriam Lefkowitz; and Infinite Ear: Portraits, a publication by Goda Budvytytė with texts by Lawrence Abu Hamdan, Vinciane Despret, Mara Mills, Louise Stern, and Sophie Woolley.
