Alexandra Murray-Leslie

Alexandra Murray-Leslie (Australia) is an academic artist, guest researcher Animal Logic Academy, Faculty of Transdisciplinary Innovation, The University of Technology Sydney and co-founder of the art band Chicks on Speed. Her practice-based research focuses on the design and development of somatic wearable musical instruments with a focus on computer enhanced foot devices for theatrical audiovisual expression. She is currently Research Fellow at Critical Curatorial Cybermedia, HEAD, Geneva, Research Associate, (CRCDM) Centre for Research Creation in Digital Media, Sunway University, Kuala Lumpur and faculty at Interface Cultures, The University of Art and Design Linz. Alex has exhibited and performed internationally at cultural institutions and biennials like: MoMA, Whitney Biennial, New York, Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, Venice Biennale, Centre Pompidiou, Paris, ZKM, Centre for Art and Media, Karlsruhe & Ars Electronica, Linz.
