VASKOS at Bangladesh: an exhibition with works by Vassilis Noulas and Kostas Tzimoulis (DAI, 2011) till May 31, 2016.
... I believe that there are memories from the future, as well as hopes for the past... Miguel de Unamuno
The exhibition VASKOS includes photographs, drawings and video that Vassilis (VAS) and Kostas (KOS) made together from August 2014 until April 2016.
It is a series of staged digital photographs: one poses, the other takes the photo and then they change sides. Each final image is composed of two photographs. The shootings began in their apartments in Exarchia, Athens. Part of this work was presented as a lecture- performance in the exhibition for Thanos Mourray-Velloudios (Beton7, 16-1-15).
The photo-sessions continued during the summer in the islands of Tilos and Nisyros, and finally completed in Thessaloniki and La Coruna, Spain, in autumn 2015.
The drawings have dimensions 70 x 100 cm, with mixed materials, made from February to April 2015. Their original intention was to find the carelessness and spontaneity of their sketchbook from their summer vacations in Tilos.
The video "The manifesto of cyborgs an afternoon in November 2015 in an Athens apartment" was created as a contribution to the durational performance «The Bankorgs» (BIOS, 4-12-15).
