CONVERSA # 40 with Isabel Marcos (DAI, 2013) Travelling with strangers as well as two other presentations at Mevrouw Bok on May 27
I'm really happy to be part of this beautiful initiative where I'll share a little bit of what I've been thinking while literally being between Madrid and Rotterdam.
I'd love to see u all there.
On wednesday at Mevrouw BOK.

CONVERSA #40 at Mevrouw BOK
Wednesday 27th of May
7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
with contributions by:
Isabel Marcos (Travelling with strangers)
Giulia Di Petro (Creative Industries in Chaoyang District, Beijing)
Bram Nigten (Recorded Reflections)
Isabel lives and works between Madrid and Rotterdam. By observing her surroundings, dialoguing with people and looking for small details in daily life experience, she starts research processes about the habitability of space that instead of portraying existing places, imagine speculative ones.

Bram is a musician and popular music researcher. Intrigued by the evocative power of reverb, he devoted the subject of his Master thesis to the evolution of the spatial features, such as reverb and echo, of recorded popular music during the mono-era (1877-1957). At this Conversa he'll be sharing some of the highlights of this research, accompanied by music samples of recordings by studio pioneer Bill Putnam.
Giulia is a 26 years old Italian. Her MA thesis dealt with Art Villages and Creative Industries in Beijing. As many fresh graduates in the Humanities, she is employed in a completely different field. Nowadays she works as a subtitles translator, production assistant and burgers 'flipper'.
Conversas is a series of weekly informal meetings made so that we can get to know and discuss projects and interests.
During the event two/three Conversadores (those who talk at Conversas) bring something to share with the gathered group, for thirty minutes each. As the title suggests itself, Conversas (Conversations in Portuguese) aim at an equal set up from which both the Conversadores and the group, should be able to profit. There's beer for 2€ (donation for the next publication).
The fourth series of ten Conversas Rotterdam starts on the 25th of March, and runs every Wednesday until the 27th of May. This series is happening at Mevrouw BOK a shared studio space, and are co-organized by studiomates Bérénice Staiger, Constança Saraiva and Micaela Damásio.
Conversas is a project initiated in Lisbon by Constança Saraiva and Mafalda Fernandes, in 2012.
Nowadays, it's a project of many people and cities.
Events are open to all and the entrance is free.
