November 6: MUSASHI brave adventures - lecture performance & workshop by Margret Wibmer
Margret Wibmer combines found objects, materials and spaces which are not necessarily related to each other and constructs a 'new world'. With this she refers to different cultural systems, a global market, and contributes to a postcolonial debate; questioning Eurocentric world views and representational systems. Wibmer kombiniert vorgefundene Dinge, Materialien und Räume, die nicht offensichtlich miteinander zu tun haben und konstruiert eine „neue Welt. Damit verweist sie auf die Unterschiedlichkeit kultureller Systeme aber auch auf einen globalisierten Markt und bringt sich auch ein in eine postkoloniale Debatte weil sie eurozentrische Wissensordnungen und Repräsentationssysteme hinterfragt. Workshop with Margret Wibmer, exploring collaborative practice and new forms of engaging with the public. Participants will work with printed and other materials, fragments from Wibmer's artwork, and explore methods of constructing and deconstructing through collage technique and performance. Workshop results will be on view until 14. 11. 2014.
