2014 Wednesday February 12 at 20 pm: Shifting States – Platforms for experimentation, a public presentation by Otobong Nkanga at the DAI's auditorium

For her presentation at the DAI  Otobong Nkanga will focus on her artistic practice, specifically site-specific works that have been shown in different context and geographical spaces. Recent performances and installations such as, "Contained Measures of Shifting States", "Taste of a Stone: Itiat Esa Ufok" and "Glimmer" take account of the public and ways of negotiating the space for discussion, contemplation or reflection. By using the exhibition space as a place for improvisation and experimentation the work has the possibility to be shaped, transformed and influenced in situ.
