2024 - 2025 Factory ~ Student Led: Sounds of resistance: Reclaiming your voice. Ukraine, The Baltics and more

JANUARY 9, 2025

Led by Henriks Eliass Zegners, Agnese Krivade, Eglė A. Benkunskytė, Magdalena Beliavska, Anna Buyvid

When: 17:30 - 19:30

Location: Exhibition Space

This workshop is intended as a space to learn and explore the historical and present day culture of “Eastern Europe”.

Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, and Sakartvelo – among others – are labeled Kremlin’s "zones of privileged interest," shaped by historical trauma, external pressure, and a fight for sovereignty under Russia’s imperial expansionist shadow.

From Soviet occupation to modern aggression, they endure military interventions, hybrid warfare (e.g., disinformation), and political and economic destabilization, waging an existential battle for self-determination.

It’s a matter of survival as the regime of Vladimir Putin is continuing the war on Ukraine.

Students from this region will offer readings, movies, music and conversations, inviting everyone to join in any capacity – with or without any knowledge on the topic.

This student initiative is facilitated by DAI by making it part of the syllabus 2024-2025 and by providing space and time for gathering. It is embedded in the curriculum component WEAVER and participation is credited with ECTS.
