Same Page Art Book Fair

Saturday, 19 – Sunday 20 October, Gertrude Contemporary, Naarm Melbourne.

Joe Miranda and Clementine Edwards are collaborating on a publication together combining Clementine's fiction with Joe's photographs and design. The publication will launch at Same Page, initiated by Perimeter Books and Gertrude, which focuses on independent publishers and small-scale local imprints.

First Wednesday Reading Group – Sci-fi in translation

Session 1: 7-9pm, Wednesday, 2 October, Rib Rotterdam

A series of monthly reading groups on science-fiction in translation. Participants will pay attention to how texts build worlds – anticipating, challenging and enacting lived realities – and how they move in different temporal and cultural contexts. A motivation for the reading group is to explore ways of putting language to experience of queer life while keeping the experience and the learning that comes with it soft, impressionable, with a possibility of spill. In the first session participants will read a short story by Izumi Suzuki (and supplementary reading from Amitav Ghosh, if desiring a supplement).
