Daniël van der Giessen ~ Key words: contesting singularity, collaboration, listing, reciting, context specificity, humour

Daniël van der Giessen (b. 1998) is a researcher, host, performer, and artist based in Rotterdam (NL). Their practice focusses on collaboration, attitudes and absurdity of Contemporary Art, and “humour”. As an artist they use conversation and negotiation, recital and listing, linguistic conjuring and proximity, with an emphasis on context specificity. Extending their artistic practice, there is an insistence on investigating the operational and infrastructural conditions of the given engagement, contesting Singularity and Indeterminacy as a logic in- and outside of Contemporary Art.
