Carol R. Kallend
Carol Rosemary Kallend was born in Bury St Edmunds and now lives in Sheffield.
Carol had two very special teachers who encouraged her to keep a diary and use her words creatively. Ever since Carol has been writing every day and poetry is a vital part of her life, giving her strength, inspiration and friendship. Partaking in many creative writing groups, Carol’s poetry has been featured and published in many journals and magazines.
In 2015 she began working with Rory Pilgrim to create Software Garden, a music video album exploring connections between disability, technology, care and how we come together from both beyond and behind our screens.
Carol has performed her poetry as part of performances and recitals for Centre Pompidou, Paris (2021), TATE, London (2021) Heart of Glass, St Helens (2020), Transmediale 2019, Berlin and Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam (2019), all via technology from her living room in Sheffield.
A life long pacifist, feminist, disability advocate, knitter and rebel, Carol is looking forward to a positive future and is proud of how far she has come.
