Stefan Rusu

Stefan Rusu (*1964, Kâietu, Moldova) is based in Chisinau. His artistic/curatorial agenda is geared towards the processes/changes in post-socialist societies after 1989. Interests include the impact of mass-manipulation techniques; political engineering; the relation between forms of colonization/culturalization and the construction of artificial identities, fake languages and political entities (e.g. the case of the Republic of Moldova).

Rusu was trained as a visual artist and has extended his practice to curating, editing TV programs, producing experimental films and documentaries. In 2005/2006 he attended the Curatorial Training Program at De Appel.
